Australian singer HOLLY VALANCE may be a star in Britain, but she's no fan of the country's "bitter" population.

The former NEIGHBOURS star launched her singing career with a splash when she filmed a saucy video for debut single KISS KISS, in which she appeared to be naked. The song was a hit in Britain, prompting Holly to move to London to pursue her career - but she admits she's not impressed with the people who made her famous.

She snipes, "People can be so bitter and twisted. It's something that runs rife in this country and I don't understand it. I've travelled the world many times and I've only noticed a sort of negative streak in London.

"I'm half-British myself but there is a real bitter circle. Everyone is capable of being lovely but a lot of people can't see the good in things. It will backfire one day and something really terrible will happen.

"You can give yourself cancer if you're thinking bad thoughts about people and it's not good."
