WILL SMITH - HITCH TOPS UK BOX OFFICE

WILL SMITH reigns supreme atop the British box office chart with his turn in romantic comedy HITCH.

The actor plays a New York "date doctor" alongside EVA MENDES in the feel-good film, which took $6.3 million (GBP3.3 million) in its first three days (11-13MAR05) on release in the UK and Ireland, knocking horror picture BOOGEYMAN from the top spot.

BRUCE WILLIS' new action movie HOSTAGE followed in second place with a $1.5 million (GBP807,171) take.

Elsewhere, mega-earning comedy sequel MEET THE FOCKERS landed the number four spot, with ROBERT DE NIRO's spooky tale HIDE AND SEEK completing the top five.
