American socialite PARIS HILTON has taken up a new hobby - mastering the English accent.

The hotel chain heiress has been annoying her family and friends with her new plum-like way of talking, and it seems she's taken her inspiration from MADONNA.

A friend says, "No one knows why she started doing this - it's not like she lives in London - but for some reason she has picked up this accent. It sounds completely ridiculous coming from her."
