LATEST: PARIS HILTON and NICOLE RICHIE will work at a fire station in Atlantic City, New Jersey, following protests over their plans in teach kids in a nearby rural town.
Hilton and Richie had planned to film scenes for their reality show THE SIMPLE LIFE at JP Cleary Middle School in Buena Vista Township, where they would have served as substitute teachers and cafeteria monitors.
But following protests from parents, who deemed Hilton a bad example to children, their jobs were withdrawn and they will instead shoot scenes at a city fire station tomorrow (14JAN05).
Fire captain WILLIAM BROOKS, who heads an engine company at the Chief John J Jasper Jr Memorial Fire Station, says, "Some guys are excited about it."
Firefighters have signed waivers and agreed to keep details about the filming under wraps.
The show's third season, which premieres 26 January (05), has Hilton and Richie travelling America working as interns in a series of jobs.
