HELLRAISER STAR IN COURT FOR DRUNKEN BEHAVIOUR

Actress IMOGEN BOORMAN screamed in drunken fury and struggled with police after her boyfriend alerted emergency services to their Scottish Highland home, a court heard yesterday (04APR05).

The 33-year-old HELLBOUND: HELLRAISER II star - who also started in UK TV dramas LOVEJOY and CASUALTY - badly injured her hand with a broken wine glass on 19 December (04), prompting her partner, who was also inebriated, to call for help.

However, when police and ambulance services arrived, they discovered the bloodied actress in a drunken and uncooperative state. She was eventually taken to an Inverness hospital - where she continued to act aggressively towards staff - and received stitches for the cut, say prosecutors at Tain Sheriff Court in Ross-shire.

Boorman admitted charges of breaking the peace. An earlier charge of intentionally smearing her blood on the police and emergency services was dropped.

Prosecutor STEWART MACIVER said, "The police discovered she and her boyfriend had consumed a substantial amount of alcohol.

Having sustained an injury she was not prepared to cooperate with the police.

"The ambulance attended and she was uncooperative with them and began shouting and swearing at them. Her boyfriend carried her out to the ambulance and she was taken to Invorgorden hospital but was uncooperative there."

SHERIFF COLIN SCOTT-MacKENZIE has deferred sentence for one year to give her the opportunity to prove she can behave well.
