DAVID HASSELHOFF is leaving behind his attempt to resurrect his eighties TV show KNIGHT RIDER on the big screen to work on a sit-com about the BETTY FORD CLINIC.
The 51-year-old has been attempting to get an "absolutely big feature film" version of the programme - about a lone crime fighter and his talking car - off the ground for three years, but Hasselhoff admits the project has lost momentum.
He sighs, "Up to now the film company has found all the suggestions terrible."
However, the persistent star is ready to bounce back by using his time in the Californian rehabilitation clinic, where he was treated for alcoholism in 2002, as inspiration for a new TV series.
He says, "I want to do a funny sitcom about the Betty Ford Clinic. A possible title would be Treatment and Recovery. So many funny things happen there."
