DAVID HASSELHOFF - HASSELHOFF DRINK DRIVING COURT APPEARANCE

LATEST: Veteran actor DAVID HASSELHOFF has been ordered to appear in court for driving under the influence of drink - two years after he was treated for alcohol addiction.

The 51-year-old - who starred opposite a talking car that drove itself in hit series KNIGHT RIDER - was arrested last week (05JUN04) and charged with drunk driving and has been ordered to appear in court next month (01JULY04).

Hasselhoff reportedly checked into the famed BETTY FORD CLINIC, California for drink dependency treatment in June (02) after he was discovered unconscious in a hotel room and rushed to hospital with alcohol poisoning from allegedly drinking his way through the entire mini-bar.

His publicist JUDY KATZ said at the time, "He realised his social drinking had increased more than he was comfortable with, and decided to do something about it."
