Hollywood hunk JOSH HARTNETT's father was shocked by rumours STAR TREK star LEONARD NIMOY fathered his son.

The WICKER PARK actor decided to stop reading stories about himself after it was once claimed in an American magazine he was the secret love child of Nimoy, who played CAPTAIN SPOCK in the hit sci-fi TV series.

He explains, "I read the papers sometimes but not so much now. THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER reported once that I was the son of Leonard Nimoy. I don't know where they got it from, but my dad was pretty surprised."
