BLONDIE legend DEBORAH HARRY finds New York disappointing now it's a safer place - because when it was dangerous it was much more fun.
The ATOMIC singer is one of the few New Yorkers who preferred the Big Apple when it was riddled with crime and urban dangers, because it made it a more thrilling place to live.
She laments, "I moved to New York when I was about 19. It was much trashier then, there were muggings on the streets. The city had the reputation for many, many years of being too dangerous. It was a lot more fun."
