Blonde beauty DARYL HANNAH is using her fame for a good cause - bringing the public's attention to heart disease.

The KILL BILL: VOL 1 star, 43, is putting a lot of time and effort into her role of celebrity spokeswoman for the AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION's 'God Red for Women' campaign.

Hannah says, "I was up at 5 o'clock this morning and I've been doing interviews all day - that's why I sound a little brain-dead.

"The statistics are really frightening. In this country, half a million women die of heart attacks every year, and 80 per cent of them are preventable."
