Publicity shy GWYNETH PALTROW has lifted the lid of the secret behind her romance with COLDPLAY frontman CHRIS MARTIN - he understands her.

The TALENTED MR RIPLEY beauty has been dating the YELLOW singer for the past year after meeting him backstage at one of his gigs, and she credits their artistic temperaments as the key to the bond between them.

She says, "It's nice to be involved with an artist. He is someone who understands the artistic temperament - which can be quite a difficult one. He understands my perspective and where I am coming from.
