SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE beauty GWYNETH PALTROW has been putting her time away from acting to good use - helping her singer boyfriend CHRIS MARTIN write new tracks.

The statuesque actress, who recently decided to step away from film cameras for a few months so she could mourn the loss of her director father BRUCE PALTROW, has been helping her COLDPLAY frontman beau with his music - with a gift from her late dad.

Martin says, "My girlfriend has this keyboard her dad bought her, which has got sounds on it I've never heard of never tried writing on before.

"That's where all these new song are coming from, which is really cool."
