GWYNETH PALTROW - GWYNETH AND CHRIS 'NOT ENGAGED'

Friends of GWYNETH PALTROW and CHRIS MARTIN have laughed off reports the pair are engaged.

The couple met backstage at one of Martin's band, COLDPLAY's concerts in England last year (02) and have been inseparable since - Chris even accompanied Gwyneth to the New Zealand set of her new movie SYLVIA.

It even claimed the pair has got engaged earlier this month (JUN03) - at a star-studded party in New York.

But friends of the couple insist they are a long way from marriage.

Paltrow's pal NADIR SULEMAN says, "No, they are not engaged.

"They make a wonderful couple but they are definitely not due to get married just yet."
