Welsh actor IOAN GRUFFUDD is regularly tormented by his male co-stars, because he is so vain.

The HORNBLOWER heart-throb proudly admits he likes to take care of his appearance and is always defending his beauty regime in the face of merciless jokes from his male co-stars.

Gruffudd says, "I've always been vain. The Body Shop chain was launched when I was in the fourth year at school and I used to stock up on moisturisers and lip balm, and slick my hair back with really thick gel. Nowadays I always use SPF30 (suncream) on my face.

"When I was shooting KING ARTHUR with RAY WINSTONE, he crept up on me when I was curling my eyelashes. He was like, 'What are you doing? You're playing a f**king knight!' I've always had the p**s taken out of me."
