LATEST: Actress JANET JONES's hockey star husband WAYNE GRETZY has denied any involvement in the betting scandal that has implicated his wife.
Jones has been indicted for placing bets of at least $100,000 (GBP55,600) with a sports gambling ring.
Gretzky, who is the head coach of the Phoenix (Arizona) Coyotes hockey team, is attempting to distance himself from the scandal.
Spokesman ELLIOTT MINTZ maintains, "Janet is merely one of a number of witnesses, and there is no allegation whatsoever that Janet has violated any law."
