GREEN DAY - GREEN DAY LEAD 2005 KERRANG! MUSIC AWARDS NOMINATIONS

American punk group GREEN DAY dominate the nominations at Britain's Kerrang! awards this year (05), with a triumphant five nods.

The chart-topping trio are the most popular choice for Best Single and Best Album with AMERICAN IDIOT. They also are up for Best Band On The Planet, Best Live Band, and Best Video - for their jaunty hit HOLIDAY.

SYSTEM OF A DOWN also score five nominations, while goth rockers MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE have an impressive four nods, including Best Band.

Meanwhile, FEEDER, STEREOPHONICS, FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND, PLACEBO and CRADLE OF FILTH are fighting it out for Best British band.

The winners will be announced at the Kerrang! Awards in London on 25 August (05).
