GORILLAZ - GORILLAZ DITCH WORLD TOUR PLANS

NEWS BY ARTIST ALPHABETICALLY

Animated band GORILLAZ have abandoned plans for a world tour, because it costs too much money to bring the cartoon characters to life on a regular basis.

The DIRTY HARRY hitmakers - who are the brainchild of BLUR singer DAMON ALBARN and artist JAMIE HEWLETT - set the Grammy Awards alight earlier this month (FEB06) when they performed with MADONNA.

But it cost more than $1.5 million (GBP880,000) to bring MURDOC, 2-D, RUSSEL and NOODLE to the stage.

Hewlett says, "We're just not gonna be able to do a proper tour. We've tried really hard to work out a way but the costs would be just astronomical."
