LOVE ACTUALLY - GOLDEN GLOBE THRILL FOR DADDY RICHARD

British writer/director RICHARD CURTIS' GOLDEN GLOBE nod was a surreal experience for him - because he was watching his girlfriend stuff cabbage leaves into her bra when the call came through.

Curtis has been desperately trying to get back to normal following the birth of his fourth child 10 days ago, and his home was in chaos when his cellphone started vibrating madly.

He explains, "I was cooking lunch for my girlfriend and for my children who were already at the table. There was a man at the door with flowers, and the phone kept vibrating in my pocket.

"Of late, I've been thinking of breastfeeding and the benign advantages of cabbage leaves more than Hollywood - if you put cabbage leaves on engorged breasts, it takes the heat out of them, so I have a girlfriend who has vegetable tendrils coming out of her bra."

Curtis has been nominated for his screenwriting skills on LOVE ACTUALLY.
