Former PINK FLOYD frontman DAVID GILMOUR is keen to visit estranged band member SYD BARRETT for the first time in 30 years. Barrett was fired from the band in 1968 after his struggle with drug abuse left him riddled with psychological problems. None of his former bandmates have seen him for decades, but Gilmour has been in touch with Barrett's sister ROSEMARY and is considering visiting the singer at his Cambridge, England home, where he lives the life of a recluse. Gilmour says, "I'm tempted to see him. I miss him - or my fantasy if what Syd used to be. "I don't think Rose recommends a visit overall, but she hasn't said, 'You really shouldn't.'"
