TWELVE MONKEYS director TERRY GILLIAM was outraged when a New York hotel charged him for an extra day when he vacated his room just a few minutes after he was due to check out.

In his rage, the former MONTY PYTHON star decided to make a stand in an unusual way, and set out to find a local vagrant to irritate the hoteliers even further.

He says, "I told them that if they charged me for another night, I would go find a homeless person on the street and move him in.

"I walked all the way to the East River and I couldn't find a single homeless person. I was very disappointed."
