LATEST: Cannibalism movie BUTTERFLY, A GRIMM LOVE STORY will open in Germany as scheduled, after native man-eater ARMIN MEIWES' attempt to foil its release failed.
Meiwes - known in Germany as the 'Cannibal of Rotenburg' - filed an application at the district court in Kassel earlier this month (09JAN06) hoping to ban production firm Atlantic Streamline from releasing the movie. He cited invasion of privacy, claiming the movie was based on his life.
But the court has now dismissed his application. The THOMAS KRETSCHMANN-starring movie will open in Germany on 3 March (06).
