British pop star GEORGE MICHAEL has blasted TV talent shows because they give young wannabes fleeting fame, then abandon the potential stars as they slip out of the limelight.
The former WHAM! singer, 42, remains unimpressed with shows like AMERICAN IDOL, POP IDOL and THE X FACTOR, because they hype wannabes for the programme, but fail to support them after the programme ends.
Michael says, "It gives these people a taste for three entire months of what they have always dreamed of - and then it disappears."
