Pop star GEORGE MICHAEL's drug habit has spiraled out of control - all because of his lack of confidence.
The 40-year-old star admits to smoking five or six marijuana joints a day in a bid to keep his head high.
The FAITH singer says, "It's the only way I manage to keep myself open enough to the idea that what I do is good."
The singer also says that he takes Ecstasy on "special occasions" - the last time being 18 months ago (02).
The superstar has spoken of his drug habit in a rare interview ahead of the release of his new album PATIENCE next week (begs08MAR04).
