Smoldering screen star GEORGE CLOONEY has reportedly been approached to play the lead role in a film version of the FANTASTIC FOUR comic strip.

With superhero flick X-MEN 2 having passed the $100 million (GBP62 million) in America, studios are eager to cash in on the current boom for cartoon characters.

And reports suggest movie bosses have chased the former ER hero to play REED RICHARDS, also known as MR FANTASTIC, who has an invisible wife called SUE.
