INTOLERABLE CRUELTY star GEORGE CLOONEY has conceded the new COEN BROTHERS film is a departure from their usual cult fare.
The upcoming movie, which also stars CATHERINE ZETA-JONES, was lavished with praise when it premiered at the VENICE FILM FESTIVAL earlier this month (SEP03) - but Clooney accepts the film marks a move to the mainstream for the filmmakers.
Clooney explains, "When I did O BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU? with the Coens it was seen as them selling out and going mainstream. So I guess it's really me that's the mainstream part of it.
"Maybe this is a mainstream film, and I'm thrilled to be getting the chance to do it, but I haven't had much luck in the mainstream lately anyway."
