BOB GELDOF - GELDOF DUMPED FROM LIVE 8 PLAYLIST

Rock campaigner SIR BOB GELDOF has axed himself of the playlist for Saturday's (02JUL05) Live 8 gigs, because he doesn't sell enough records to justify sharing the stage with superstars MADONNA, SIR PAUL McCARTNEY and U2.
Live 8 organiser Geldof is happy to watch from the wings while MARIAH CAREY, DIDO, SIR ELTON JOHN and STING jostle for stage time in London's Hyde Park.
Despite playing Live Aid with his band THE BOOMTOWN RATS in 1985, Geldof admits he's not much of a chart-topper these days.
He says, "I don't think I'm going to be playing.
"Let's face it, I don't sell enough records to justify a space on the bill."
