LEIF GARRETT - GARRETT IMPRISONED

Former teen idol LEIF GARRETT has been sentenced to 45 days in prison after failing a number of drug tests during his stay at a live-in substance rehab centre. A Los Angeles Superior Court commissioner decided the 44-year-old singer had violated the terms of his rehabilitation and he was transferred to jail on 30 March (06), it was announced yesterday (06APR06). Garrett agreed to check into rehab in February (06) after failing a drug test, which violated probation from an arrest for cocaine possession in 2004. Garrett is due back in court for a progress hearing on 11 May (06). In January (06), he was charged in a separate incident, after police allegedly found the fallen star in possession of heroin on a Los Angeles underground railway train. He has pleaded not guilty to those charges.
