Former teen idol LEIF GARRETT was sentenced to 90 days in prison and put on three years' probation yesterday (11MAY06) after leaving a drug treatment program. The 44-year-old has been behind bars since 30 March (06) after a Los Angeles Superior Court commissioner decided the 44-year-old singer had violated the terms of his rehabilitation. Garrett's lawyer ANDREW FLIER told the Los Angeles court that his client left the program, which included drug tests and daily counselling, because it was too strict. Garrett agreed to check into rehab in February (06) after failing a drug test, which violated probation from an arrest for cocaine possession in 2004. In January (06), he was charged in a separate incident, after police allegedly found the fallen star in possession of heroin on a Los Angeles underground railway train. He has pleaded not guilty to those charges.
