STEPHEN FRY - FRY CALLS PRINCE CHARLES 'YOUR GORGEOUSNESS'

Director STEPHEN FRY betrayed his close friendship with British royal heir PRINCE CHARLES by publicly addressing him as "your gorgeousness" at the premiere of his new film last night (28SEP03).

The star, who has been a close friend of the PRINCE OF WALES for years, raised giggles from the assembled crowd at the premiere of BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS in London, which raised money for Charles' PRINCE'S TRUST charity.

Fry was later relieved to see the Prince "roaring with laughter" throughout the film, which is his debut directorial effort.

He says, "We have been friends for a long time, but it was such a relief. We are very grateful to him for coming along and giving the film a good kick-start.

"I was having this terrible dream where nobody turned up and the Prince was asking, 'Are you sure I am meant to be here?'"
