ANNA FRIEL - FRIEL'S FESTIVAL FURY

British actress ANNA FRIEL was left fuming after she was refused access to a festival stage - because she wasn't famous enough.

The petite ME WITHOUT YOU beauty, who made her name on British soap BROOKSIDE, was at the V FESTIVAL in Chelmsford, England, at the weekend (15/16AUG03) with her NAKED actor boyfriend DAVID THEWLIS.

When Anna decided she wanted to watch American funk rockers RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS from the side of the stage, she got a nasty surprise.

Australian pop singer HOLLY VALANCE, former TAKE THAT hunk MARK OWEN and British TV presenter CAT DEELEY were all given free access to the side of the stage while the BY THE WAY band were rocking, but Anna was refused entry.

An eyewitness giggles, "Anna got very annoyed, but she just wasn't deemed a big enough celebrity."
