JULIETTE BINOCHE - FRENCH MOVIES LEAD EUROPEAN FILM AWARDS NOMINATIONS

Acclaimed French film CACHE (HIDDEN) is favourite to be the big winner at next month's (DEC05) European Film Awards after scooping seven nominations.

Oscar-winning beauty JULIETTE BINOCHE is up for the Best Actress gong for her performance in the MICHAEL HANEKE-directed thriller, but she will face stiff competition from UN LONG DIMANCHE DE FIANCAILLES (A VERY LONG ENGAGEMENT) star AUDREY TAUTOU.

The JEAN-PIERRE JEUNET movie received four nominations in total, including Best Cinematography, leaving it neck-and-neck with British independent film MY SUMMER OF LOVE, which is also up for four awards.

The awards ceremony will be held in the German capital Berlin on 3 December (05).
