The members of FRANZ FERDINAND have noticed a problem with their band's name - they're often mistaken for one man.

TAKE ME OUT rockers ALEX KAPRANOS, PAUL THOMSON, ROBERT HARDY and NICK McCARTHY named their band after Austria's ARCHDUKE FRANZ FERDINAND, whose 1914 assassination sparked World War I.

And while they've enjoyed their quirky choice of name, they've realised it's become a little confusing for others.

Frontman Kapranos says, "Often people recognise me and I'll hear, 'Oh, there's that guy from the band,' but I had someone in New York say, 'Oh, there's that guy Franz Ferdinand.'

"Once, we were doing a TV show in France, and there were two dressing rooms - one for Franz Ferdinand and one for Franz Ferdinand's band."
