The redoubtable Columbia Journalism Review has taken Fox News to task for failing to mention parent News Corp or sibling Fox TV in its reports about the merger of the UPN and The WB "fifth" networks. On its website, the CJR noted that in reporting the merger, Fox News had failed to point out that News Corp, which distributed UPN programming through nine Fox-owned stations across the country, had been excluded from the merger, thereby leaving "many of its local stations with gaping holes in their future programming."
