FRANZ FERDINAND singer ALEX KAPRANOS has paid out a massive $760,000 (GBP400,000) on a Scottish farmhouse - which they plan to convert into a recording studio.

The TAKE ME OUT rockers have purchased the luxury Glasgow abode for the sole purpose of developing their own private studio, in which they'll lay down tracks for their eagerly awaited second album.

The Scottish band are currently penning tunes for the follow-up to their highly acclaimed eponymous debut, which scooped the prestigious MERCURY MUSIC PRIZE in London earlier this year (04).
