DENZEL WASHINGTON - FEMALE FACTOR KEEPS DENZIL IN REALITY

OSCAR-winner DENZEL WASHINGTON is convinced his success is down to one factor - his strong relationship with his wife.

The 50-year-old star of TRAINING DAY admits his spouse PAULETTA keeps him in touch with reality as he pursues his successful movie career.

Washington explains, "I'm so glad I had such a strong woman to keep my head screwed on straight.

"You've got to have a woman like that in your life to tell you you're full of s*** once in a while! I'm not a saint and I don't claim to have been a perfect husband.

"There were some tough moments for me, because when you're trying to get recognition and trying to get to the next level where you can call your own shots, you can lose touch with you home life. You can get caught up with staring at the prize too much and forgetting your roots."
