BRANDON LEE - FATAL SHOOTING ON MEXICAN FILM SET

A Mexican actor has been shot dead on the set of a low-budget action movie after a fake gun was mistakenly replaced with a real one.

In a tragic scenario that echoes the fate of BRANDON LEE in THE CROW (1994), ANTONIO VELASCO was fatally wounded by co-star FLAVIO PENICHE after he was handed a gun with real bullets instead on blanks.

Peniche was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and then released on $40,000 (GBP25,000) bail.

The shooting occurred on the set of THE SCORPION'S VENGEANCE last Saturday (16AUG03). Police are investigating the tragedy.
