Irish lothario COLIN FARRELL has a vain secret - he hates the left side of his face.

The PHONE BOOTH star, 27, shares the unusual quirk with pop starlet MARIAH CAREY, who regularly covers the left side of her face with her hair or by tilting her head.

After seeing the posters to advertise his latest film S.W.A.T., Colin insisted that they switch his image with co-star SAMUEL L JACKSON when he saw he had been placed on the right.

Colin explains, "I look better from my right side and besides, I don't like my left ear.

"Girls tell me I look sexier in this pose, and after all, we were selling a movie."
