COLIN FARRELL - FARRELL TO WIN OSCAR SAYS MUM

Irish actor COLIN FARRELL is destined to scoop an OSCAR for his performance in upcoming epic ALEXANDER - according to his mother.

The PHONE BOOTH star unintentionally fuelled his mum's hopes when he mentioned the big screen tale of legendary Greek figure ALEXANDER THE GREAT bore a resemblance to GLADIATOR, the movie which provided RUSSELL CROWE with a Best Actor gong.

A source says, "His mum has convinced herself that Colin is going to get an Oscar.

"She already thinks her boy is the best actor in the world and Colin happened to mention Gladiator when he was talking about the film to her.

"Now she thinks it's a foregone conclusion he will win, let alone be nominated."
