LATEST: Hundreds of people gathered in the Malian town of Niafunke yesterday (09MAR06) to pay tribute to late bluesman ALI FARKA TOURE, who died on Tuesday (07MAR06). The African music great was 67 when he lost his battle with bone cancer. His family, friends and fans gathered in the small desert town, near Timbuktu, to attend his burial, which was delayed from Wednesday (08MAR06) due to bad weather.
