Movie sexbomb EVA MENDES is desperate to get a part in a PEDRO ALMODOVAR movie - but lost her courage when she spotted the Spanish director at an awards bash.

The ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO beauty was considering approaching the acclaimed TALK TO HER filmmaker, but decided against it because she was afraid of making a fool of herself.

The 29-year-old says, "I almost met him at a GOLDEN GLOBE party. He looked so sweet I wanted to go and give him a hug.

"But I had also had a couple of drinks and didn't want to say anything stupid."
