Hunky singer ENRIQUE IGLESIAS caused a media uproar by surgically removing his trademark mole - but most of his friends didn't even notice.

The 28-year-old HERO singer went under the knife in August (03) after his doctor warned the facial mark could become cancerous in the future - and while the removal was the subject of media scrutiny, some of Enrique's pals are still unaware of the change.

Enrique laughs, "Most people I know haven't noticed it's gone. I was talking to my childhood best friend and I asked him if he noticed anything different.

"He stood there for, like, five minutes looking me up and down and then said, 'Oh my God, you've had a nose job!'

"I was like, 'What?! Are you retarded?'"
