KIEFER SUTHERLAND - EMMY MEETING BRINGS BACK BAD MEMORIES FOR SUTHERLAND

KIEFER SUTHERLAND finally met a man he once attacked after mistaking him for a mugger at this year's (03) EMMY AWARDS.

The PHONE BOOTH star assaulted the unlucky man in 2001 after failing to realise the supposed robbery he was witnessing was part of a student film.

He recalls, "It was on Olympic Boulevard in Los Angeles and I pulled my car over and I jumped out and I attacked one of the guys, and before I knew it this elderly lady behind me was hitting me with her purse, saying, 'Stop, stop, he's my friend,' and it was a guy dressed up as an old lady.

"I looked across the street and there were a bunch of students shooting a student film.

"I don't know how well the film did but they put the clip of me attacking their friend on the Internet and that's done quite well for them.

"At the EMMY ceremony I met the young guy I threw into the hedge. He said, 'It's nice to meet you under better circumstances.'"
