Eavis To Stay At Glastonbury Helm For Years To Come

GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL organiser MICHAEL EAVIS plans to continue running the phenomenal pop festival until he is well into his 70s.

Farmer Eavis, 67, originally expected daughter EMILY to take over the reins when he turned 70 but now says he will find it too "difficult" to hand over just yet and will keep going for some time to come.

The widower, who started the annual festival in 1970 when he was 34, says, "I've always said when I'm 70 I'd put my feet up but I've got another three years to go on that one.

"It's going to be a difficult thing to close it down or hand it on. I just wonder whether I can let go."
