CLINT EASTWOOD - EASTWOOD FAILS TO MAKE GERVAIS' DAY

Hollywood legend CLINT EASTWOOD has turned down a cameo role in comedian RICKY GERVAIS' new British TV show EXTRAS.

THE OFFICE star Gervais has enlisted the talents of Hollywood A-listers including SAMUEL L JACKSON, BEN STILLER and KATE WINSLET for his new show, but was unable to persuade Oscar winner Eastwood to take part.

But Gervais still has fond memories of the moment THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES film-maker failed to realise who he was when he collected a Best Actor Golden Globe award in Los Angeles last year (04).

Gervais says, "He said, 'Who the f**k are they?', which is my favourite quote."
