Former X-FILES star DAVID DUCHOVNY remains stunned he ever became a successful actor - because he'd originally planned to be a professor.
The actor, who attended Ivy League universities Harvard and Yale, had dreams of earning his money as an academic, before he suddenly decided to perform in front of cameras.
He says, "I thought I'd teach, be a professor and I'd write in my downtime. That was kind of the plan.
"And then I thought, 'If I'm gonna write plays, I should probably learn what it is to be on stage and speak those words.'"
