AMERICAN IDOL - DR PHIL HELPS ABDUL DATE

AMERICAN IDOL judge PAULA ABDUL has enlisted the help of US talk show host DR PHIL McGRAW to help her find true love.

The two will star in a primetime TV special, LOVE SMART, which is scheduled to air on St Valentine's Day (14FEB06).

On the show, McGraw and Abdul will "explore the life of an unmarried international celebrity who is looking for love".

The STRAIGHT UP singer will discuss her quest to find Mr Right, whom she describes as someone who is comfortable with her level of success, busy schedule and who isn't "overwhelmed by her emotions".

Abdul will go on a blind date with one of 10 guys with cameras following their every move.

The man selected for the date will not know in advance that he is meeting Abdul.

After the date, Dr Phil will analyse the videotape and offer advice on her dating performance.
