Former THE LIBERTINES frontman PETE DOHERTY has finally turned up for a concert - even though it was someone else's.

The controversial singer appeared on stage at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire with rock group PRIMAL SCREAM last night (19AUG04) - despite failing to turn up at two sell-out concerts earlier this month (AUG04) with new band BABYSHAMBLES.

Doherty was thrown out of the CAN'T STAND ME NOW band two months ago (JUN04) due to his drug habit - which has seen him in-and-out of rehabilitation clinics.

Meanwhile, his former bandmate CARL BARAT who continues to record and perform with the Libertines has offered his former pal an olive branch.

He says, "If Pete stops taking drugs he can come back and the band can go on."
