LATEST: Troubled rocker PETE DOHERTY had robbery and blackmail charges against him dropped due to "insufficient evidence for a realistic chance of prosecution".
The former THE LIBERTINES star, who now fronts BABYSHAMBLES, faced a second stint in prison following his arrest in London in February (05) after an alleged fight with film-maker MAX CARLISH.
But now Doherty, who is dating supermodel KATE MOSS, and co-defendant ALAN WASS have had the charges against them dismissed.
A spokeswoman for the UK's Crown Prosecution Service says their lawyers have been informed that their cases will not be proceeding. Both men had been due to attend a preliminary hearing at London's Snaresbrook Crown Court next Monday (18APR05).
Doherty was sent to jail in 2003 for burgling former bandmate CARL BARAT's flat.
