DJ SHADOW - DJ OUTSHADOWS OPPOSITION IN URBAN ALBUMS POLL

DJ SHADOW's ENDTRODUCING LP has topped a new poll of influential dance and urban albums.

The acclaimed 1996 album beat A TRIBE CALLED QUEST's LOW END THEORY and ILLMATIC by NAS to lead the reader's survey in the current issue of America's URB music magazine.

Thousands voted for their fave raves in the worlds of hip-hop, rap, dance and trance, and it was the breakthrough from Shadow, real name JOSH DAVIS, which ruled the roost.

The top 10 albums were:

1. ENTRODUCING - DJ SHADOW

2. LOW END THEORY - A TRIBE CALLED QUEST

3. ILLMATIC - NAS

4. ENTER THE WU-TANG (36 CHAMBERS) - WU-TANG CLAN

5. NEW FORMS - RONI SIZE REPRAZENT

6. MIDNIGHT MARAUDERS - A TRIBE CALLED QUEST7. DUMMY - PORTISHEAD

8. THE CHRONIC - DR DRE

9. READY TO DIE - NOTORIOUS B.I.G.

10. BIZARRE RIDE II THE PHARCYDE - THE PHARCYDE
