Diana Ross Denies Drink Driving Allegations
MOTOWN legend DIANA ROSS yesterday (23JUN03) told an Arizona judge she felt forced to take a breath test when policeman SCOTT SULLIVAN stopped her as she drove to a video rental shop in December (02).
During a 10 minute testimony the 58-year-old singer said, "I felt a threatening tone from him. You know, like a command, a demand."
Ross was stopped after police were told she had been seen driving the wrong way down a one-way street in Tucson, Arizona.
A subsequent breath test showed positive - police claim she had a blood alcohol concentration of .20 per cent, when the legal limit in the state is .08 per cent.
But the CHAIN REACTION diva has pleaded innocent to three counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and her lawyer STEPHEN PAUL BARNARD is attempting to have the results of several breath tests thrown out of court.
